Shark Tower

A hotel development on the Cancun Rivera, Shark Tower, was a highly complex and challenging project that required significant management and design assistance services to support developer Luxima, and local architecture and master plan firm Manero Arquitectos and Ernesto Zarate Executive Architect. Executed in partnership with Manero, a renowned design firm, RAD worked to realize the extremely ambitious shark fin form into a functional and ultimately buildable structure that could be delivered in a realistic time frame and without exorbitant cost. By segmenting floors supported by a robust concrete core at the rear of the fin, the project was able to meet the complex geotechnical requirements needed to build within the tidal zone immediately adjacent to the marina. Completed in 2021, the project is now an iconic fixture on the Cancun skyline.
